Project Description

ROSSI … is a spunky BLACK DOMESTIC SHORTHAIR.  He is 21 months oldneutered, has his claws and weighs 9 lbs. Rossi came to live at Spring Green Animal Hospital (SGAH) after a client witnessed him being thrown out of a car window going down the highway at 80 mph. His mom was hit and killed instantly and after a long search his siblings were never found. This 2.5lb, 10 week old injured black kitten had just lost everything he had ever known.  He was scared and all alone.  Fortunately, he was able to walk away from this abuse with only a brachioplexus injury, where his carpus (wrist joint) was injured and frozen in place.  He found a welcome companion in Cheeto, the clinic cat, a gorgeous red tabby who loves everyone.  Cheeto helped Rossi come out of his shell and become more social.  Eventually, the playful, curious kitten who couldn’t be stopped by a lame paw emerged.  He loves ‘his people’ who feed and take care of him and he is extremely affectionate and seeks attention with them. He loves to be held and sit over your shoulder and snuggle in.

Sadly, his fear of ‘outsiders’ has led to an increase in stress over the past year.  The staff at SGAH was hoping Rossi would continue to come out of his shell and become a clinic cat. Unfortunately, his stress level and anxiety seem to be rising as people and animals come and go.  He has a difficult time dealing with the ‘no introductory period’ the clinic setting brings of cats coming in for boarding and fostering.  He yowls and is stressed over new cats. Rossi needs a calmer, more stable forever home where he is the only cat.

He will need a patient and slow introduction to the household to become comfortable with the people in it.  He would likely be fine with older, respectful children. He is OK with dogs.   Mixed Breed Adoption Fee $25.   Fostered in Spring Green, WI.
